My favorite track from the EP. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to accurately capturing a state of mind. I’ve been at odds with myself for most of the year and unsure of my future. It feels like a resignation but it’s more hopeful than it seems. I liked the idea of “heaven” not necessarily being what it seems. The song features a friend of mine on trumpet and the last note runs into the first song on the EP. It’s unending – if you let it.
lyrics
Suddenly I don't feel a thing
There's always less
Than what I thought would be
From the blossoming
Of the lemon trees
To all of the numb
That December brings
Still my heart it beats
A hummingbird's wings
Said the fear of a thousand things
For what comes after me
After geography
It's only hell who waits for me
Tell me when I can smell the roses
Tell me when I can live the moment
When everything doesn't mean a thing
And I'm down again
In my own unending heaven
Own unending heaven
