The words and music came spontaneously from an open tuning I had been messing around with. I strummed the melody and the words seemed to follow. The song is about wanting to be in different place than the one I was in. I found peace focusing on my surroundings instead of myself.
lyrics
Among the wildflowers
Is where I'd like to be
Free from all the eyes
Peering from the seas
Free as all the birds calling from the trees
Free as all the winding of rivers and the streams
Among the wildflowers
I'll lie until they grow
Shadows ever growing
Over all I've ever known
Nothing up above
Nothing down below
I'll turn into the earth
The temperate ground below
Among the wildflowers
Is where I'd like to be
Free from all the eyes
Peering from the seas
Free as all the winding of rivers and the streams
Free as all the birds calling from the trees
